re-re-twothousandth-re incorporates dance, installation, text and video. Three performers move in front of four laptops where several performances made in 2003 are reproduced. Instead of learning the choreographies the dancers resist rehearsal choosing to copy the movement from the videos. Building upon pre-existing choreographies and a range of styles, this piece offers an unsettling, funny, playful and challenging landscape of movement, reflecting a response to different contexts of space, time and bodies and the memory they evoke.

- Select any choreography that was made in 2003 (preferably its title should be comprised of 3 words).
- Find a ‘genuine’ DVD of this choreography and copy it in your computer.
While copying the files, have also the DVD playing in your computer and try to copy/mirror the choreography from the screen physically.
- The copying/mirroring of the choreography may be performed by up to three performers
- Take a video of the performers and upload it on the blog
- This task should be performed only once and should not be rehearsed

The performance 'Giselle-Act II' consists of four scenes which individually look into matters of choreography, repertoire, authorship and failure. Using copying and repetition or borrowing the iconography of the 60's performance-art scene, I explore the dramaturgy and choreography of 'Giselle'. Reconstruction, does not come as a methodological tool but serves as a general context that entails notions of originality, tradition and history. My attempt is to reconsider those ideas and therefore, create a productive ground for their resignification. Each scene, each small instantiation follows the narrative of the 1841 ballet and yet, it constitutes a slip from history which bears the potential for new contexts to emerge.

SCENE I
Giselle appears swathed in her thin shroud. [...] The shroud falls off and Giselle is changed into a Wili. Her wings glow and unfold. Her feet skim the ground. She dances, or rather darts, into the air [...].

SCENE II
[...] for it is not the pretty Giselle whom they adored, but Giselle the Wili, in her new and strange metamorphosis, who remains motionless before them. [...] no sooner do they extend their hand toward Giselle than, quicker than lighting, she darts far from them, to take a flight and soar through the air like a frightened dove.

SCENE III
The Wilis soon surround them, twine about them, and fascinate them with their sensuous poses.
Each of the Wilis attempts to detain the villangers, trying to please with steps appropriate to her nationality.

SCENE IV
Giselle and Albrecht begin a quick, airy, and frenzied dance. They seem to vie with each other in grace and agility. Now and again they pause, to fall into each other's arms; then the fantastic music lends them new strength and fresh ardour. [...] Albrecht is seized with deadly weariness. He still struggles, but it is clear that his strength is beggining to be exhausted. Giselle goes to him and pauses for an instant, her eyes filled with tears; [...] The first rays of sunlight illumine the silvered ripples of the lake [...] Giselle seems to be filled with fresh hope on seeing the disappearance of the terrible enchantment which was leading Albrecht to his doom. [...] During this charming spectacle, Giselle, subject, like her etherial sisters, to the influence of the daylight, slowly frees herself from Albrecht's enfeebled arms. [...] Giselle, pointing to the sun, now shining in all its strength, seems to tell him that she must submit to her fate and leave him for evermore. At this moment loud fanfares echo in the heart of the forest. Albrecht hears them with apprehension and Giselle with sweet joyfulness.

Trio was developed using processes of reconstructing three artworks: Trio A (Yvonne Rainer), Triadic Ballet (Oscar Schlemmer), and France/tour/detour/deux/enfants, Mouvement 3: Connu/Géométrie/Géographie (Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville).

Trio is also the name of our collective that we have formed with my fellow performance artists: Stella Dimitrakopoulou, Antje Hildebrandt and Michelle K. Lynch. Currently situated in different parts of the world, our projects are being developed through the virtual rehearsal space of a blog.

Loss of virgin-self, 2006

This work was part of my BA Degree show. In 2007 it was nominated by the Municipality of Thessaloniki to represent Greece at the 13η Biennale for Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean which was held at the Fiera de Levante in Bari/Puglia, Italy.

BA Final Degree Show, 2006

These series of works have been an exploration of the meaningless and compalsive nature of doodling; big drawing installations that expand throughout the gallery space, occupy it and possibly transform it.I have used traditional drawing materials such as paper, charcoal, ink, pencils and markers as well as more unconventional ones like alcohol and silk traumaplast. The work has been exhibited in the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki and the piece 'Never Everland or Ever Neverland' is now part of its permanent collection.

Rhythm

The Parade (video), 2005

Most of the times, our identity is connected to our image. What could the rhythmic and physical relation that we have with another person possibly mean? In the video I isolate the movement of the lower and the upper part of the body to recompose their walking. Therefore, the piece is a parade of female, male and hermaphrodite bodies who seek for the existence or non-existence of compatibility.

Action Field Kodra '04 and '06

'Action Field Kodra' is an annual arts meeting that takes place in Kalamaria/ Thessaloniki in an area that used to accommodate military barracks. It is mainly a platform for young artists and the works are usually site-specific projects.
